Our Crops
Abanitu is a certified organic food farm.
We cultivate a variety of vegetables, small fruits, melons, flowers, gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, and medicinal and culinary herbs.
Our focus is heirloom and open-pollinated vegetable varieties almost exclusively, emphasizing flavor, hardiness and disease resistance.
We specialize in seasonal greens, brassicas and lettuces, but cultivate regional fare ranging from asparagus to zucchini, including several varieties of heirloom tomatoes.
We cultivate mushrooms for food and medicinal purposes on a limited basis, including shiitake, maitake and reishi varieties.
Our medicinal herbal offerings concentrate mainly on those that boost the immune system, tonify the nervous system, and enhance mental function.
All the flowers and many of the herbs selected for cultivation at Abanitu multi-task as bee pasture, food and habitat for beneficial insects, and produce based on their appeal at the farmers' markets where we sell.
